About Me.

I am a holistic and integrative healthcare practitioner, a mother of four (three here on earth), a Christian, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend—born and raised in central Illinois. Like many, I am on a journey to discover my purpose in life, one that evolves over time. I remind my children daily—so I can remind myself—that our purpose is to serve others. By striving to make someone's day better and to be a better version of ourselves each day, we fulfill this mission.

Simply put, my philosophy is: Love God, Love Others. (Not preaching, just a sinner striving for grace.)

In my spare time, I enjoy experimenting with whole food recipes, incorporating herbs and spices, and learning new techniques like dehydrating food. I also love yoga, sauna sessions, scrapbooking, and reading inspirational books. One day, I hope to learn how to can food, set up a greenhouse, and continue my journey in understanding how food is medicine.

After reading my story (my why), you’ll understand how I arrived at this point in my life. With over 13 years of nursing experience, seven of which I spent as a Nurse Practitioner, I’ve worked in settings ranging from a small critical access hospital to a Level 1 trauma emergency room. Though I miss my colleagues and the practice of traditional medicine, my path has shifted in ways I never anticipated.

I was led down a difficult road—pediatric cancer—when my son Mikah was diagnosed. Despite losing him, I am deeply grateful for where this journey has brought me. It opened my eyes to the flaws within our food, medical, and pharmaceutical industries. Though I never asked for or wanted this experience, it has ignited a passion within me to understand and address these issues more deeply.

Now, as a Christian Nurse Practitioner with my own PLLC, MTM Wellness, I am called to a new purpose. I aim to educate others on our innate health and empower them to make informed, holistic health choices. I hope to one day establish a nonprofit organization and greenhouse business to provide clean, organic food to those in need.

At MTM Wellness, I offer a holistic approach to health and wellness. While I won’t replace your primary care doctor, I specialize in helping you address the root causes of illness—focusing on prevention, terrain health, and even disease reversal. Together, we’ll explore how your lifestyle, including what you eat, how you sleep, how you move, and what you put on your body, can impact your well-being. My goal is to help you remove the barriers to your body’s natural healing process and support a personalized plan for your health.

A majority of my experience as a NP is in the the Emergency Room (ER) setting, but I also have experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in the Urgent Care and in Hospital Medicine (hospitalist). In addition to the ER, I have experience as a RN and a nurse-aid in "STAT" nursing, acute care, cardiac telemetry, pediatrics, school setting with special needs, nursing homes, and in the "float" pool in the hospital.
